We warmly welcome students and their families to begin their journey with us at Al Barakah School.

How to Join Al Barakah School

1. Join the Waiting List

Interested and prospective students can be added to the Waiting List from age two onwards. To join, complete the Waiting List Form and pay the non-refundable fee:

  • Complete Waiting List Form here
  • To join the waiting list, please pay the Waiting List Fee. Payment details can be found at the top of the Waiting List Form. The fee is £12 for the first child, and £6 for each additional child or for siblings of current students.

Once both form and payment are received, you’ll get a confirmation email, and your child will be added to the Waiting List. The Admissions Team will contact you when a space becomes available, Insha’Allah.

2. Assessment

When a place becomes available, your child will be invited to undertake a brief and informal assessment, either in person or online. This includes recognition of Arabic letters and vowels, as well as Qur’an reading and knowledge of Tajweed rules, based on the current syllabus and appropriate class level. If a student does not yet meet the required level, we’ll recommend tutors and resources to help them catch up. Once ready, they can return for reassessment, Insha’Allah.

3. Registration

If the assessment is successful:

  • Parents will complete a Registration Form with the student’s details
  • A one-time, non-refundable registration fee of £27.50 is required to secure the place.
  • Parents join a payment plan, ensuring fees are paid monthly, termly or yearly.

All follow-up communication will be sent by email, so please keep your contact details up to date.

4. Starting School

Once a place is confirmed and the student is registered, parents of Reception and Class 1 students are invited to an Information Morning to meet members of staff and enjoy a tour of the school. New students will start on the agreed date and will be warmly welcomed by our team. On their first day, they will receive their relevant books and be introduced to their class and teacher, Insha’Allah. We look forward to welcoming your child into our Al Barakah family!

Eligibility

We are grateful to have a high demand for places at Al Barakah Alhamdulillah. Places are offered based on a combination of Waiting List position, age eligibility and a brief assessment to ensure readiness for the class level. We do our best to accommodate as many students as possible, Insha’Allah

Age

To enrol, your child must be at least four years old before the academic year begins in September. We recommend adding your child to the Waiting List from the age of two years old, to help secure a place in Reception Class or Class 1 when they become eligible.

New places for Reception Class and Class 1 open every September. Class 1 is the official entry point for students aged four and above. A limited number of Reception Class places are available for younger four-year-olds born between 1 January and 31 August.

Waiting List

  • To maintain quality teaching and personalised support, our class sizes are capped
  • All applicants are added to the Waiting List
  • Places are offered as they become available, in order of application
  • Children with siblings currently enrolled may be given priority

Assessment

Applicants are required to undertake a brief, informal assessment to ensure they are placed in the most suitable class. Assessments ensure students are able to keep pace with their peers.
